3 Players Qualified for the 2017 USA Volleyball Girl's Junior National's!!

Congratulations to 3 Members of the COHS Volleyball Program who have qualified with their respective teams for the USA Volleyball Girls Junior Nationals Championships (GJNC) to be held in Minneapolis at the end of June!! GJNC is an annual event in which teams must compete to qualify by either winning a Qualifier or finishing high enough within their Region’s League. The following 3 players have worked hard during their club seasons to earn this honor. Congratulations and Good Luck to:

CONGRATULATIONS to Senior Libero, Christal Wong, who committed to play volleyball for Pace University in Massachusetts Fall 2017! Christal has accepted a spot as a defensive specialist / right side player. Christal has played volleyball for our program for 1 year on JV and 3 years on Varsity. She was named Defensive Player of the year her Senior Year, and has a 4.42 GPA! Good luck Christal!

Senior Christal Wong Commits to Play Volleyball at Pace University

Sheff Selected for the Senior Optimist Volleyball Match 2016

Congratulations to Senior Outside Hitter, Sydni Sheff, who represented Cosumnes Oaks High School in the South Side of the Large School Match of the Optimist Game. She was selected to play alongside other Senior Super Stars from the area on Saturday, December 17th at 7:00 pm at Rio Americano High School. Congratulations and Good luck Sydni!

Varsity finishes 6th at the Stockton Classic 2016

Varsity finishes 6th place at a tough Stockton Classic tournament. They worked hard to win their first match of the day in 3 sets verse Vanden High School. They then faced a tough  Buhach team, ultimately falling short losing 26-28 in the 2nd game. Varsitiy bounced back to defeat Nevada Union in 2 sets 25-8 and 26-24. Varsity finished the tournament 2-2 with Sydni Sheff being named to the All Tournament Team. Way to go Pack!

Varsity Finishes 5th at the Large School CIVT 2016

Varsity started the day strong, winning their morning pool! After a team dropped out of the tournament, Varsity's pool was changed so that they were in a 3 team pool with each match having to be played 3 sets to 25. They came in prepared winning their first match against Vista del Lago 3-0. They worked hard while battling Del Oro to win the first 2 sets of the match, clinching 1st in the pool. They finished their match against Del Oro defeating them 2-1. In bracket play, Varsity defeated Folsom to move into the top 5 teams in the tournament. In the Semi-finals, Varsity met a talented Tracy team, who ultimately went on to win the tournament. Great job Varsity!

JV CIVT Tournament of Champions 2016

Our JV win the Consolation bracket at the JV CIVT Tournament of Champions on Saturday, 10/22/16. They finished 2-1 in their morning pool, putting them in a 3 way tie for 2nd place. After losing the 3 way tie based on sets won / lost, they fought back hard the rest of the day to go undefeated in bracket play to pull out the Consolation Bracket! Way to fight back ladies! Our Varsity, JV and Freshmen Teams had a great time walking in the Homecoming parade. Way to represent theVolleyball program!

Freshmen Finish 3rd at the 2016 Freshmen CIVT

The Freshmen finished 3rd in their tournament at El Camino High School! They started the morning strong, winning their first 2 matches of the day easily. In their final match of pool play they suffered a 3 set loss to El Dorado to finish second in their pool. The Freshmen team still qualified for the Gold Bracket, defeating McClathy in the first round of bracket play to move onto the semifinals. They lost to Woodcreek in the Semifinals but still finished strong in 3rd Place! WAY TO GO LADIES!! To view the results of the tournament visit the CIVT tournament website.

Varsity Finishes 5th at the 2016 High Sierra Invitational!!

Varsity went undefeated after Day 1 of the High Sierra Tournament finishes 1st in their pool. They traveled to Bishop Manogue High School for Day 2 of play. In their morning pool, your Lady Wolfpack team started the 2nd day 2-0 defeating Homestead High School and then Nevada Union. Varsity headed into its last match of Pool Play 5-0, ready to play St. Francis. After losing to the Troubedors in an exciting 3 set match, your Lady Wolfpack ended up still winning their pool to advance on to the Gold Bracket. They faced Spanish Springs High School who knocked them out of the tournament. Varsity finished with a record of 5-2, finishing in 5th place! You can see their results by clicking the link below.

CONGRATULATIONS to our Program's first player to accept a Full Ride Scholarship to a D1 college. Leanne Newell was a 4 year Varsity Player, 3 year MVP, 3 year Captain and 4 year All League Player. Good luck at UC Riverside Leanne! 

CONGRATULATIONS to Jaysonna Johnson who committed to play for UC Merced! Jaysonna played 2 years on JV and 2 years on Varsity. She was named MVP 3 times, received All-League Honors and was also a 2 year captain. Good luck at UC Merced!

GJNC is an annual event in which teams must compete to qualify by either winning a Qualifier or finishing high enough within their Region’s League. Newell Selected for the Senior Optimist Volleyball Match 2015

Leanne Newell is the first COHS Volleyball player to be selected to participate along fellow Senior Super Stars from the area to complete in the All-Star match, where Seniors are split into either the North Side or the South Side teams. Leanne will represent COHS as an Outside Hitter in the South Side of the Large School Match of the Optimist Game at El Camino High School. Congratulations to Leanne for this great honor!

Congratulations to the 2015 JV team for winning out their bracket to win the consolation bracket of the JV CIVT tournament. WAY TO GO LADIES!!
